Book Bag Programs

Family Book Bags

Run out of stories to read and look for some new books to enjoy? Having a hard time picking new books from the online catalogue? Let us help you! We’ll prepare a bag of up to 10 stories for you and your family to enjoy. Let us know the age(s) of your child(ren) and their interests, or leave it up to our staff to pick some new favourites to enjoy. A book bag will be waiting for you to pick up at the branch of your choice in under a week.

Books will be checked out to you for a minimum of 3 weeks with the possibility of renewal. You are responsible for replacement costs of lost or severely damaged books.

Want a book bag but don’t have a Library card? No problem! First sign up for a Standard Membership here and then come back to submit your book bag request!

We will also include preschool craft kits, brochures, and/or rhyme booklets as appropriate for the child(ren) in the bag!

Please include an email address if you would prefer to be contacted via email when your book bag is ready for pickup.
Don't have one yet? Sign up for a Digital Membership by clicking the link above.
Check all that apply.
For example: Is your child just beginning to read independently? Do you already own the entire Robert Munsch collection? Would you rather not receive Craft Kits? Can you only pick up a particular day of the week? Etc.
Classroom Book Bags

Classroom Book Bags are a free service for all teachers who live or work in Innisfil.  A classroom book bag is a large canvas bag filled with books on a topic of your choice. Items are carefully selected based on the grade level of your students. And if you’re looking for more ways the Library can support your class, check out our Teacher Resources!

Note: Whether you live or work in Innisfil, you are entitled to an Innisfil ideaLAB & Library card.

Topics:

Any subject being covered in class can be requested. Examples might include: the seasons, habitats, famous Canadians, ancient Rome, or urban and rural communities.

Please do not feel limited to subject specific requests as we are happy to accommodate requests for grade specific or reading level based book bags.

Time Limits:

Two weeks notice is preferred for each new book bag request, however faster turnaround times are possible to help support inquiry-based learning initiatives. We offer three types of book bags based on turn-around time.

  1. The Classic: Our traditional 1-2 two weeks notice. These bags are carefully curated by staff to ensure the best variety of books on the topic requested. Materials are able to be sourced from all four of the Library’s locations.
  2. Express: A 48-60 hour turnaround to help meet those last minute book needs. These bags will have a more limited selection as they will need to be sourced from a single Library branch.

Books will be checked out to you for a minimum of 3 weeks with the possibility of renewal. You are responsible for replacement costs of lost or severely damaged books.

Child Care Book Bags

Child care providers are invited to take advantage of our Child Care Book Service. Let us know the ages of those in your care, and we will select up to 30 books for you! The books are checked out to you for 3 weeks and all you need to do is pick up the bag! To register please fill in the form below or contact your local branch.

Classroom E-Book Lists

Classroom E-Book Lists are a free service for all teachers and students who have an Innisfil Library Card (click here for information regarding Standard Membership). An E-Book List is a curated selection of e-books and e-audiobooks on a topic of your choice that are accessible through any of the Library’s digital collections (ex. CloudLibrary, Kanopy) and other available digital collections (ex. TumbleBooks, Project Gutenberg). You can request a specific author, genre, or topic (ex. Seasons, famous Canadians, etc.). Please allow at least a week’s turnaround time to prepare your list.
