Soldering Blinky Badges

They did it, soldering, laser cutting and wiring all in under an hour at the ideaLAB! Roek and Emma tried soldering for the very first time! They were both eager to learn and gain a hands-on understanding of how the soldering process works. They also used the laser cutter which etched their names onto their badges. Wires were added and connected to batteries which made their badges blink and come to life. Make your own, book your spot NOW, runs til the end of September.

We've got a great team of knowledgeable staff who are ready to help make your project ideas into reality!

Today Melissa was making a pile of stickers using the vinyl cutter. These colourful bits of happiness will be used to decorate...

Looms and Stencils

Sometimes here at the IdeaLAB we spend a lot of time making a thing which is not itself the end result. Instead, the item is just step one in the long making-a-neat-thing process.

As an example, we recently assembled a collection of tiny looms for some spool knitting, as well as a set of stencils for a DIY screen printing process. Both of these items were a lot of fun to design and make, but the real treat will be when they are used for their intended purpose.
